Welcome to the McAllen Public Library Teen Department! Open exclusively for teens in grades 6th-12th, you can enjoy our social lounge, where you can borrow video game consoles, watch a movie, play games, or hang out with your friends. Need time to study? Then feel free to use our homework area for study groups, projects, reading and research. The Teen Department also has a set of 12 computers and a printer that is readily available for Teens to use. Whether you need a place to relax with your friends or get homework done, the Teen Department is the place to be!

Looking for community service hours? Join our award winning Teen Advisory Committee (T.A.C.) here at McAllen Public Library. Along with other teens, you will have an opportunity to meet and decide what you want your Teen Department to represent and what types of programs you would like to see for you and your community.

McAllen Public Library provides opportunities for volunteers to participate in the operation of the Library’s used bookstore, special programs, and projects. All interested persons 16 years and older must apply to be a volunteer by filling out an application with the City of McAllen Human Resources Office at McAllen City Hall (956-681-1045).
