Why should you join the Teen Advisory Committee?
Looking for community service hours for school, clubs, or just for fun? Join our Teen Advisory Committee (T.A.C.) here at McAllen Public Library. Along with other teens, you will have an opportunity to meet and decide what you want your Teen Department to represent and what types of programs you would like to see for you and your community. Also, be a part of volunteering for special events such as South Texas Comic Con, Fiesta de Palmas, the South Texas Book Festival, and much more!
Take a look at the 5 main goals for the TAC:
1. To provide an opportunity for Teens to increase their leadership skills all while gaining community service hours.
2. For Teens to have a voice in the library, encouraging them and others to use the library as a resource.
3. Make social connections with fellow teens that have the same interest.
4. For members to have a safe and comfortable environment to help shape our organization and learn new skills.
5. Provide an opportunity for Teens to assist in library programming, increasing their responsibility in the organization and encouraging fellow teens to join in with their programming ideas.
Do you like acting, singing, dancing, or want to create sets and work behind the scenes? Join our Teen Theatre program offered during the Summer!
