About the Bookstore
A Place for Readers to Browse & Discover

Operated by the Advocates of McAllen Public Library, the Library Bookstore features gently used books donated by the community along with materials withdrawn from the library collection.

Visitors can browse affordable books for all ages, including fiction, nonfiction, children’s titles, cookbooks, and more.

The bookstore offers a welcoming space for readers to discover unique finds while helping give books a second life within the community.

Pop-Up Book Sales
Upcoming Sale Dates

Stop by our upcoming book sales and explore a great selection of gently used books, including bestselling authors, select nonfiction, children’s books, romance, paperbacks, and libros en Español. Credit and debit cards only.

Bookstore Donations
Donate Books to the Bookstore

Donations
Book donations are accepted at Main Library on Wednesdays from 9AM-8PM and Sundays from 1-8PM. Please bring items in a cardboard box or disposable bag (limit 1–2 per person). Drop off donations at the Welcome Desk in the lobby only; no drive-through or outside drop-offs.

Become an MPL Advocate
Volunteer with the Library!

Adults and teens ages 17+ can volunteer with the Library Advocates by helping in the bookstore, organizing shelves, greeting visitors, and assisting with pop-up book sales. It’s also a great opportunity to earn community service hours while supporting McAllen Public Library.
