Families are invited to celebrate the 10th annual Día de los Niños / Día de los Libros on Sunday, April 27, from 5-7PM at Main Library. This year’s theme, “Champions Read,” honors young readers and brings together the joy of books and the excitement of lucha libre in a fun-filled evening for the entire family.
For the first time ever, the event will feature professional wrestling matches by The Texas Wrestling League. Get ready to cheer on your favorite luchadores and enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience!
Local authors Grandma Cookie and Rogelio Cervantes will take the stage to share their latest books, followed by activities for kids and teens. There will also be a Teen Game Room, along with free popcorn and book giveaways for youth, while supplies last, thanks to the South Texas Literacy Coalition.
This event is free and open to the public, from children to abuelitos. We invite your family to spend the evening celebrating cultura, literature, and family. For more information, contact the Children’s Department at 956-681-3010.
