Vampires of El Norte_Isabel CañasIsabel Cañas brings us a tale where history and horror walk side by side. Set in 1840s Mexico during the early days of war with the U.S., “Vampires of El Norte” follows Nena, a curandera with something to prove, and Néstor, the vaquero who thought she was lost forever. When the two cross paths again, they not only have to face the wounds between them, but also a nightmare that’s been hunting the borderlands under cover of night.

This is more than just a vampire story. It’s about survival, love, and the monsters — real and imagined — that linger in our stories. Pull up a seat for an afternoon with Isabel Cañas, whose work blends folklore, memory, and the kind of suspense that stays with you.

Following the session, the author will be signing books in the Computer Lab from 3:00–4:00PM. Book sales will be handled by our exclusive bookseller, The Storybook Garden.
